Last November, Nasukawa failed to secure the world title in the WBC world title match against Takuma Inoue. However, he has made a comeback and is now set to challenge the winner of the May 2nd world title match between Inoue and Kosei Ioka. Eager for a rematch with Inoue, Nasukawa declared his determination to continue climbing the ranks. Gushiken praised Nasukawa's resilience, stating, "Tenshin survived. Winning against such a formidable opponent in a comeback match is impressive. The next world title match is now within sight." However, he also advised, "He needs to push himself more in training. He must follow a proper regimen and push himself further."
Yoko Gushiken was born on June 26, 1955, in Ishigaki City, Okinawa Prefecture. He won the national high school championship during his time at Konan High School and made his professional debut in 1974. Known as the "Crested Serpent Eagle of Ishigaki Island," he won the WBA world light flyweight title in 1976 and retired after his 1981 match, which ended his record of 13 consecutive title defenses in Japan. His professional record stands at 24 fights, 23 wins (15 by KO), and 1 loss.
Tenshin Nasukawa was born on August 18, 1998, in Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture. He debuted in professional kickboxing at the age of 15 in 2014 and participated in mixed martial arts with RIZIN in 2016. He won the RISE world featherweight title in 2018 and transitioned to professional boxing after his final kickboxing match against Takeru in 2022. His professional boxing record is 9 fights, 8 wins (3 by KO), and 1 loss, while his kickboxing record is 42 fights, 42 wins (28 by KO).
