The Tokuyama Gym, led by former WBC World Super Flyweight Champion Masamori Tokuyama, is set to make its debut at the "Champions Road" event, supported by Hochi Shimbun, on the 29th at Osaka's El Theater. On the 28th, the pre-fight weigh-in took place in Osaka, where gym members Naoki Sueyoshi in the Super Flyweight division and Seunghee Lee in the Super Featherweight division both successfully made weight for their matches in the West Japan Rookie of the Year four-round bouts. Chairman Tokuyama, who plans to be in the corner during the matches, expressed his thoughts, saying, "While there are still things I'm getting used to, I understand from experience what is beneficial and what isn't from a fighter's perspective. I only say positive things to ease the fighters' minds." He added, "Both fighters are southpaws with a deep boxing style. I haven't told them to aim for a KO, but if they can perform to their potential, we can expect good results." Sueyoshi, who will be the first to fight, debuted in April 2023 and has a professional record of two wins and two losses. He transferred to Tokuyama Gym in February on the recommendation of his previous gym. He vowed to win, saying, "If I can control the fight with my left straight and right jab, and box without getting hit as Chairman Tokuyama advocates, I can secure a solid victory." Lee, making his professional debut, had an amateur record of six wins and five losses during high school and university. After a seven-year hiatus, he was inspired to challenge himself when Tokuyama Gym was approved for professional membership last year, passing the professional test in January in the welterweight division. He stated, "I'm feeling good. I'll be careful not to get hit too much and aim for a positive result." Tokuyama retired from active competition in 2007 and opened the Tokuyama Boxing Gym in Higashi-Osaka in December 2024, receiving professional membership approval last year.
