On April 28th, Riyad Mahrez, an Algerian international playing for Al-Ahli, reportedly gifted each of his teammates a luxury Rolex watch after their victory in the AFC Champions League Elite, where they defeated Machida Zelvia in the final. Despite Machida's valiant effort, they succumbed to a 0-1 defeat in extra time against the reigning champions, Al-Ahli, a club financially backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF). The watches, featuring a bezel in the team's green color and engraved with "MAHREZ 7" on the back, are valued at approximately 85,000 riyals (around 3.61 million yen). Mahrez, who previously contributed to Leicester City's miraculous Premier League win alongside Shinji Okazaki, has since played for the global powerhouse Manchester City before joining Al-Ahli in 2023.
