Takeru, who has declared this bout as his retirement match, shared his thoughts with the martial arts media on the 26th, revealing his mindset ahead of his final match. Reflecting on his encounter with Rodtang at the press conference on the 24th, Takeru noted, "My impression hasn't changed, but I could tell that Rodtang is really fired up for this match." After the press conference, Rodtang made a bold prediction following a public mitt workout, stating, "I plan to fight in an international boxing style for the first one or two rounds. If the match isn't decided by the second round, I'll switch to kickboxing rules for rounds three, four, and five. Look forward to it." When asked about Rodtang's comments, Takeru responded, "Rodtang has always tried to shake things up, but I don't pay much attention to what he says. Once the match starts, he'll kick anyway, so I'm not worried." The fight will serve as the ONE Flyweight Interim Title match. Takeru expressed, "I believe ONE is at the pinnacle of stand-up fighting right now. Winning this title would bring closure to my career, and if I can claim it, I'll prove I'm the best in this division, especially considering the weight issues of the reigning champion, Superlek. Defeating Rodtang and capturing the ONE belt is the final piece of my career story. I will definitely win." The event will be broadcast nationwide on Fuji TV from 10 PM on the day of the match, under the title "U-NEXT presents ONE SAMURAI 1: Takeru's Retirement Match - The Fateful Revenge Match."
